Kaede answered the nice to meet you with a nod and a noncommittal, "Mm." Being jumped by an overenthusiastic first-year the instant she entered a room was not what she would normally call nice.

"And yeah, everyone was... fine." She wasn't sure if she'd really been okay, and one of the others (Kaede still didn't have a name to go with that avatar) hadn't really seemed that way either. But, it's not like she was going to admit to being one of the two who actually seemed to take things poorly.

"...So." Her gaze drifted across the room's decor. "...The place looks nice." Ugh. Small talk.
